Mechanical/Electrical Coordinator

Coordinate jobs between the mechanical and electrical engineering departments. Provide project engineering services from system concept to final commissioning.  Assist sales in contract development through system design, pricing, contract writing, and technical support.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Specific Responsibilities:

  • CAD/Engineering:
    • Assist in the supervision of controls department personnel for work assignments, adherence to standards, and training
    • Spot check department drawings for accuracy and completeness
    • Design and draw field placement drawings for quotes
    • Be a liaison between the controls department and the electrical installers
    • Answer any questions from the electrical installers during the quoting process
    • Review projects with Controls engineering manager and provide insight on panel building and drawing hours during the quoting process
    • Design the control logic and draw the install set
    • Order panel and field parts to inventory in GP
    • Build panels and provide guidance to the controls department personnel who are responsible for panel fabrication
    • Coordinate with UL for inspection of panels
    • Create BOM for costing in GP
    • Coordinate with PM to have control parts and panels onsite for project
    • Support engineers and installers that are in the field.
    • Make sure As-Built drawings sets are completed in a timely manner
    • Utilize special vendor programs for the development of equipment design, pricing and bills of material
    • Provide budgetary and or fixed costs for required equipment and services
    • Maintain communication between mechanical and controls drafting departments as if they are one department
    • Generate quote requests for all special equipment and subcontracted services
    • Provide RFQ’s for equipment and installation services
    • Assist with proposal documents with specific attention to equipment specifications
    • Use Conveyco Technologies’ standard procedures, forms, and software
    • Negotiate pricing on contracts and vendor equipment orders

Other Responsibilities:

  • Travel as required
  • Monthly/Yearly Controls equipment Inventory
  • Special Project/Test Setup construction
  • Continually seek to improve department functionality
  • Assist controls programmers on conveyor application and specifications
  • Support mechanical drafting on design and standards
  • Support network and phone system
  • Perform other duties as required for business operations

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to lead and motivate in a positive manner
  • Ability to provide discretion and judgment in decision making
  • Ability to be flexible and reprioritize on a regular basis to accommodate deadlines and workload
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate an ability to analyze and organize assigned work
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with the customers, vendors, and Conveyco team members and to use good judgment in recognizing scope of authority

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years technical or business school or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in the material handling system integration
  • Experience in conveyor application and system design
  • Microsoft Office products
  • Microsoft Project
  • Working knowledge of recent AutoCAD version
  • (A comparable amount of training, education or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications)

Individual must perform with minimal supervision.
