Kory Savage has spent his career writing the software that keeps distribution centers moving. He cut his teeth in the material handling industry working on projects with FKI Logistex and Intelligrated, where he saw firsthand what happens when mission critical software can’t keep up with the operation it’s supposed to run.
Those years showed him where the existing WES and WCS products on the market kept falling short, so he set out to build something better. That work became New Dawn, the warehouse execution software Conveyco uses to run and coordinate automation in distribution centers. Back when it was still called Horizon, the platform was named a finalist for the 2021 MHI Innovation Award for Best IT Innovation, recognized for features like integrated emulators, overlapping wave order management and drag and drop system configuration, all designed to make implementations faster and less expensive for customers.
Today, as Conveyco’s CTO, Kory leads the company’s technology strategy and continues to guide New Dawn’s development, working closely with the engineering and project teams to make sure the software and the equipment on the floor work as one system.
Kory studied at the University of Maine at Farmington and lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
