Narrow Belt Sorter – NBS
The Narrow Belt Sorter uses a set of narrow strip belts to carry product over the surface of the sorter. The NBS contains an individual takeup for each belt in the system. At the divert location on the 90 degrees divert bucket a series of high friction rollers raise to engage the product and divert it off of the sorter at the right angle. On the 30-degree version, fixed angle wheels rise up between the carrying strip belts and divert product off the sorter.

What are some of the Advantages of the Narrow Belt Sorter?
Quiet: The belt design of the NBS is extremely quiet
Flexible: The modular design of the NBS divert is easier to apply vs. rigid divert centers that cannot change later
Energy consumption: The consumption of an NBS is more than 50% less than comparable pop up wheel sorters
30- and 90-degree offerings: Divert buckets can be inserted interchangeably as the operation needs
What are the Common Applications?
Mid Rate Sortation: This machine can handle faster rate requirements than a standard popup
Packing Sorters: When totes and cartons of wide ranges need to be sorted into packing areas
Feeding Tappers and Carton Closing Stations: Cartons are distributed to one of several carton sealers or even to specific stations depending on collateral material required such as catalogs or invoicing.
Feeding Directly into Gaylords: The 90-degree orientation allows for sortation directly into their shipping Gaylord without any manual intervention
Tote or Carton Buffering System: Cartons and totes can be buffered at a higher rate and in a smaller footprint than comparable 30-degree popup wheel configurations
